Book 2 was EVEN BETTER

What can I say….I loved book one and how it started to bring you into what is going on but book 2 was OMG the action and the answers you start to get…..It was soooo good and I can not wait until book 3 comes out. I have been lucky enough to read this one as she was writing it and I can tell you this, if you have not started this series, you might want to.

By the time you get to book 3 and 4 your mind will be officially blown!!! The action and secrets are amazing!! I am not sure how writers come up with this stuff.

Also do not forget that 50% of the proceeds go to the American Cancer Society so grab the books and help out a good cause!

RJ Blain is a bad ass!!

I have recently started working with RJ Blain. You all know her as a huge PNR author and let me tell you her brain is crazy. I love her to death. She not only is very talented but does it all with many health issues.

Working with her I just do background stuff like market research or getting her organized so I did not need to read her books to do the job. I have started listening to her audio books while I work on 12 hours of market research. (she takes it very seriously) I feel in love with Playing with Fire. I loved it so much that my daughter is now listening to it and she had never been able to make it through one audiobook in her life.

First off the narrator is AMAZING…she does the characters so much justice. Then the story itself cracks me up. You really have no idea what RJ will have them doing next.

Now I am not listening to Huffin’ It. I will let you know how it is when I am done! Go check out her stuff if you have not already you will not be dissapointed!

No Time

So a lot of my reading time is used for ARCs for the authors that I work with. Sometimes, on the rare occasion when all of them are writing, I get to pick the books I read. I have been on a bully kick lately since I have read Rachel Jonas’ upcoming release and Eden O’Neill’s books. I have even had a chance to read the first 6 chapters of Lucinda Darks upcoming release. Let me tell you none of them have disappointed.

So, since I have had a little time with everyone writing, I have been reading the Rejects Paradise series by Sheridan Anne. The first 2 books are amazing and while I am working (slowly) on the 3rd book, I am trying to make it last till the next book comes out. I hate having to wait to find out what happens. I will just try to be patient and but something tells me I might be bugging her to be on her ARC team as well.

Rachel Jonas changes lanes!!!

Rachel has done an amazing job in Urban Fantasy but now she has decided to write Bully Romance as well. Let me tell you it was worth it. I have read this ARC and I messaged her and told her she was mean for leaving it off the way she did. I still love her and will read everything she writes but let me tell you….I have a book hangover and will continue to have one till book 2 comes out.

Colleen Hoover’s Heart Bones

I know this is only a blog for indie authors and to be honest I am not sure if Colleen Hoover is signed or not. Either way I LOVE HER WORK!!! and it is my blog so I will add her if I want. lol

This and every story she has written has made me cry. They are so emotional and you can get every visual you need. You feel for her characters as if you know them personally.

Heart Bones is about a girl that was raised in a trailer park by an addict mom. With a very unfortunate turn of events she ends up living with her dad before she goes off to college. During the summer she falls in love with a guy no one really knows much about but she can see in his eyes that he is just as damaged as he is.

She fights for him like no one else even though he will not talk about his past. He will tell her everything at the end of the summer so nothing can ruin the time they have together. Unfortunately, time has run out and now she has to make a decision to stay and fight for him or go to college. He gives her no choice and after 4 years she is back to bring home the love of her life.

My review will never do her books justice. So just trust me and go read them!! This one is on Kindle Unlimited but you never know when it will not be so read it now!

Raven Dark’s Spider Series

This series is defiantly an interesting one. It is dark, gritty and super crazy hot!!!

This girl was part of a cult growing up and when she finally escapes, she works as at a biker owned strip club as a waitress. She thinks the cult has found her so she steals the tip jar and tries to run, when she literally runs into Spider. He decides to keep her and punish her for stealing from the MC and in the mean time becomes obsessed with her.

She thinks she is doing thing right when she finally realizes that MC life is not what she thinks. In the mean time he is using her for sex and she is finding out that the cult was both right and wrong about the outside world.

If you have triggers….do not read this book. It will have your trigger in it.

Do not get me wrong. It is a hot story and I can not wait to see how he redeems himself after the cliffhanger that was left in book 2.

Eden O’Neill – Kingpin

I found Eden when she published her first book, They the Pretty Stars. Let me tell you, I see a lot of book covers every day but, for some reason, hers made me stop and look and read about it. I fell in love with this cover. So, me being me, I reached out to her and said: “hey, I am totally not a psycho but I love your cover and want to help out any way I can.”

Now, I am not one that will will say ‘hey, I think you need me in your life’ but, lucky for me, she does and we have been friends ever since so yay me. She is amazing and once I read the book, I knew I had made the right decision. Her series was amazing and now I am reading the spin off book, Kingpin. It has not disappointed either.

These guys are headstrong with money and power. Well kinda. LJ had to work for what he has but he has had the help of his friends to back him up. Now they tend to go about things like a bull and deny there feelings a little too much and trust out siders even more.

Falling in love never was what they were looking for but, one by one, they fell. Unfortunately, I am only half-way done with this book but it is coming out Aug 3 and the paperback is already out, so I wanted you know know that you really need to get it.

If I didn’t have a headache going to bed last night I would have probably stayed up to finish it. All of her books are that way.

Random Thoughts

Right now I am reading several books. I never thought I would be that person because I have always had problems with retention. Even when I was in elementary school and middle school, I had to have the special teachers that would have the books on tape to follow along with.

When I had kids and they got a little older…we did not have t.v. Cable was too expensive and eventually we could not watch the same 50 dvds over again. When they would get bored, I would tell them to read and the teachers always let them bring books home or we would go to the library.

As they got older, they wanted to read books that I was not sure were age appropriate. (Twilight) I decided to put there need to read above my own and made myself read Twilight. I found out that the books they made you read in school were not ones I wanted to read and that they just did not interest me. It was not that I couldn’t comprehend the writing, it’s is that I didn’t want to. The books did not interest me.

Maybe it was that I am older and things just started to click in place. Whatever the reason I love to read now. I am not only reading 1 book for fun but I am alpha reading and beta reading and ARC reading for lots of different authors.

I have found that even if you are in a certain mood, there is a book that will fit it and change you attitude. Books for me are like music can be for others. All it takes is a little fun book to take you out of your funk.

So for all of you out there that think reading in lame and too hard. Keep looking for your book that will change your mind. Need help finding it? Message me and I will help you find it.
