Ariel Hunter – Rebel Witch

I want to start by saying…..HOLY CRAP. Where did this girl come from. I read A LOT. From alpha to beta reading to ARC reading…I even buy they occasional book. This one ranked up there as one of my favs.

Obviously, if you do not want spoilers stop here and just go get it. You will love it.

Now if you want to know what happens here is your chance to get the highlights.

Rebel Witch is about just what the title says. She has to take her powers by a certain age and find out what color her power is. In doing this she also has to have an arranged marriage and a ton of other things that are “tradition.” She agrees to take her powers but instead of being red, gold, green, purple…you get the picture, she is pink. White being a wild magic mixed with red.

Now, when she took her powers she made a deal to not have to get married or do any of the other crazy outdated traditions. She would take her powers and live life as a regular human. Turns out when you have wild magic, that is not how it works. She blows up a bar and puts people to sleep while growing a rose garden. Not only that but now they are making her take classes and have a Mystic (trainer) and they want to make her get married again.

Turns out her teacher and Mystic is the guy they want her to marry. Can you see the problem here. Oh, I forgot…..fiancé is smoking hot and why the hell does he want her….

I am telling you, this newbie author is worth taking your time to check out her books. I have a feeling, with the right amount of advertising, she will make it in this crazy industry!

Raven Dark’s Master of Mine

Holy crap this is one hot book. With having Amazon issues it took a little longer to come to your kindles. It was worth it.

If you want a book full of sex, stalking, BDSM, D/s relationships and an over bearing family this book is right up your alley.

She is beaten down emotionally by her family. Her father is strict military and her brothers are over bearing. They basically think without a man she will amount to nothing.

She starts being stalked and her cop brother says she is imaging it. She takes matters into her own hands. Learns to protect herself. Then learns she might have kinks that her family would never approve of.

Said stalker follows her and thinks she is now unclean by her kinks that he somehow sees her doing. Needless to say he goes a little more crazy.

She learns to love herself and stand up for herself and you totally see the growth through out the book. Over all it was a great story and if you like darker hot reads, I would totally recommend.

Magical Creatures Academy 5 – Next Level ~ Power Pendant by Lucia Ashta

I have been listening to Lucia Ashta’s Magical Creatures Academy 5: Power Pendant while I work lately.

If you have ever heard me talk about this series, you will know that I started with book 4 instead of 1 because it is from a different character’s side.  It was my first book by Lucia and I fell in love with Why.  What/who is Why? He is the lovable pandacorn with a neon mohawk and loves to eat cupcakes.

The story is about Jas who is snarky and puts on a necklace that her summertime fling left behind.  Guess what that necklace was a magical object with a ton of power, and she cannot take it off.  When she got to school the pendant stole the power of another student to give to Jas and she can’t even use the power without it draining her own power.

Needless to say, all hell breaks loose, and people want to pendant for themselves.

This book series is full of fun and drama.  What more could you want?  It will definitely keep you entertained, and you will want to know what happens next!!! Good thing she is writing the last book in the series now.  I do not want to have to wait long for it.

If you decide to read this book I would start from the beginning or at least with book 4.  Books 1-3 are about Rina and her fight to be with her guy while learning all about her powers but that is a review for another day.

Mia Harlan’s Amber

While working with my authors, I am constantly looking at the competition and seeing how others do things and how it works for them. One author that caught my eye was Mia Harlan.

Ok maybe she didn’t but her book cover sure did. I mean who puts a granny on a reverse harem book cover. Needless to say it got a lot of attention. I decided to message her to see if she would be a good fit with my other authors. She is amazing and yes I read the book but that is not the one I am here to talk about today.

Amber was one of her earlier works. It is about a girl trying to make her new coffee shop profitable while also being a chameleon shifter. Her powers to shift are not always in her control and she shifts when she is nervous into the most unfortunate people and creatures. I think if I was to be a shifter I would be a lot like her. She is kind of shy and nervous.

She is also in love with her best friend/ co owner of the coffee shop. Of course his magic is wacky too and ever spell he does goes wrong. When the one he casts to make her see the connection between them goes wrong…..she finds her mates. All 3 of them.

I have to say, I am glad that she already has the next book out because I have already dug in. By the time I am done with it, Amber goes Yeti will be ready to go too.
